How to Install Pro Shaders for Element 3D on Windows
Pro Shaders are a collection of material presets that can be used with Element 3D, a plug-in for After Effects that allows you to create and animate 3D objects. Step 1: Purchase and Download Pro Shaders
To use Pro Shaders, you need to have Element 3D installed on your After Effects. You can purchase and download Element 3D from Video Copilot's website. You also need to purchase and download Pro Shaders from Video Copilot's website. You can choose between Pro Shaders vol. 1 and 2, or get both for a discounted price.
Step 2: Run the Installer
After downloading Pro Shaders, you will get a zip file that contains the installer and the license file. Extract the zip file to a folder on your computer. Then, run the installer file (Pro_Shaders_Installer.exe) and follow the instructions. You will need to select the folder where you have installed Element 3D on your After Effects. The default location is C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Adobe After Effects CC\\Support Files\\Plug-ins\\VideoCopilot.
Step 3: Activate the License
After installing Pro Shaders, you need to activate the license to use them. There are two ways to do this: automatic or manual.
Automatic License Activation
Open After Effects, create a new composition with a new solid.
Add the Element effect to the solid from the Effect tab.
Click on the Scene Interface, a Generate License window will pop-up.
You can enter your Video Copilot Store login information and it will generate your license for you right there.
Click Close and restart After Effects.
Manual License Activation
Open After Effects, create a new composition with a new solid.
Add the Element effect to the solid from the Effect tab.
Click on the Scene Interface, a Generate License window will pop-up.
Click on Install License File and browse to the folder where you extracted Pro Shaders zip file.
Select the license file (Pro_Shaders_1_License or Pro_Shaders_2_License) and click Open.
Click Close and restart After Effects.
Step 4: Use Pro Shaders
Now you are ready to use Pro Shaders on your Element 3D objects. To do this:
Create or import a 3D object in Element 3D Scene Setup.
Select the object and click on Presets in the Material panel.
You will see a list of categories for Pro Shaders. Click on one of them and choose a shader that suits your object.
You can edit and modify the shader settings as you like.
Click OK to apply the shader and return to After Effects.
