Thanks to the recent release of firmware 2.0 for the X-Pro2, both cameras now share the same AF system and algorithm. The AF points can be subdivided into a 13×25 grid (325 points) or 7×13 grid (91 points). The central points are phase detection areas but when using Zone AF, Wide/Tracking and CH burst, only the 49 native phase detection points are available.

Fujifilm will launch a couple of major firmware updates for its X-T2 and X-Pro2 cameras. The first one, available at the end of this month, brings the X-T2 up to version 2.00 and the X-Pro2 up to 3.00. Another update will arrive in late May.
The cameras that Canon & Nikon pump out every year are their entry level consumer models which are not typically bought by enthusiasts. They are bought by consumers looking for a "good" camera at that particular point in time. It's the same audience that doesn't buy any lenses outside their kit lens and wouldn't even know about a firmware update if one was made available, let alone install it.
First teased back at Photokina, Fujifilm has released its X Raw Studio software, which uses the processor inside select X and GFX series cameras to convert Raws on your Mac or PC. In addition, firmware updates for the GFX 50S, X-T2 and X-T20 are now available.
The Fujifilm X-Pro2 launch went much smoother than the X-Pro1 launch. The camera was fast and RAW support was very good on day one, but some experienced a minor reset bug that Fujifilm addressed relatively quickly via a firmware update. The X-Pro2 was many orders of magnitude better than the X-Pro1 it replaced, and additional manual controls were added like the ISO dial that completed the retro Leica-like feel of the camera. Yet, unlike retro cameras, the X-Pro2 does not have any functional limitations. The still unique hybrid viewfinder makes the X-Pro2 a jack of all trades and puts it in a class of its own.
For a machine even to be considered for FreeBSD use please makesure it has the SRM console firmware installed. Or at least makesure that SRM console firmware is available for the particularmachine type. If FreeBSD does not currently support your machinetype, there is a good chance that this will change at some point intime, assuming SRM is available. All bets are off when SRM consolefirmware is not available. 2b1af7f3a8
